We make no secret about The Decemberists, with their nautical ghost stories and reworking of folk folk ballads, being our favorite band. Honestly, they had me at nautical.

It was a happy surprise this week to learn they are releasing a new EP in October entitled Flora Songs. Already they have the first track available for listening and downloading.

Colin Meloy, the songwriter and frontman of the band, also threw this working up of the lyrics on his instagram account.
